I'm still tired. I'm still dehydrated. And I tweaked my neck in the gym yesterday. But here we are at week 1 of my 23 week training program. There is no escape!
This week doesn't seem too tough... 3 swims. 3 runs. 3 bikes. 1 rest day.
Note: there are not 10 days in a week. So here is where scheduling gets tricky. I expect a few 5am workouts. I expect to have undesirable evening workouts after a long workday. That's the deal!
From here on out, I'll be keeping track of my workouts, how they went, how I felt, what I ate. This was a suggestion from a recommended book on recovery for triathletes.
My biggest fear is getting injured. I don't want to miss workouts, or worse, have to give up my IRONMAN dream. Good news is that I teach yoga 4 times a week, which will help with cross training and recovery. I'll also try to pop in a strength session here and there.
DON'T WORRY! I'll keep things light and honest. Expect a few cuss words, poop stories, and average speed. After all, I am trying to represent The Average IRONMAN :)
For now, I'll enjoy my last true non-training day with some sun, Cinco de Mayo celebrations, and a light bike ride with my Boo this evening.
Happy Training!
